A native of New York, Elizabeth “Liz” Abunaw moved to Chicago in 2012 when awarded a full-tuition fellowship to the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, from which she earned a master’s in business administration. Since 2018, Liz has been developing healthy holistic communities in Chicago West Side neighborhoods by promoting food justice, equity, and economic revitalization as the founder and owner of Forty Acres Fresh Market. Since its inception, Forty Acres has serviced thousands of customers residing in underserved communities.
